For those without signs… As always if you need a sign just drop us an email and we will get one out to you right away. We have already gone through our first order of 1200 signs and more than half way through our second order of 1200. Currently John P. Jack Seiler Campaign signs are selling on Ebay for .02 Cents (.04 cents autographed) after the election who knows where the price will go.

MOST IMPORTANT WORDS TO REMEMBER

While it is great show of support (and builds name recognition) to have our signs all over Fort Lauderdale, always remember, signs don’t vote, people vote.

Election Day, February 10, 2009, is most likely going to be a low turnout election based on the statistics from past City of Fort Lauderdale elections. We know that not all of our supporters are always available to volunteer due to work or family commitments.

The two most important things our supporters can do for Jack is simply
1) VOTE yourself and
2) Get your family and friends in Fort Lauderdale to vote for Jack.

Because this is expected to be a low turnout election, this race could be decided by a small amount of votes. A concern is that some people my forego voting, thinking because of Jack’s popularity, media coverage and community support that Jack may not need their single vote. We need everyone’s vote, all votes are crucial.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

There will not be Early Voting for the February 10, 2009  election but if you or someone you know wants to vote ahead of time one can always vote via absentee ballot. The link to request an absentee ballot is here;

JACK SEILER CAMPAIGN UPDATE

To members of Jack Seiler for Mayor of Fort LauderdaleSaturday we had another great day of walking door to door. Our grassroots effort is really paying off. It is amazing how many people tell our volunteers that they are voting for Jack. Even better is the positive response to our Television and Radio advertisements.

TEAM SEILER NEEDS YOUR HELP ON ELECTION DAY

The polls are open from 7 am - 7 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Please respond via Facebook or click the “volunteer” link at the website www.JackSeiler.com and I will be in touch with you to coordinate a time and location.

Also, we need volunteers to hold up signs at the major intersections in Fort Lauderdale on Election day from 7-9am and 4-7pm. We have arranged with the local schools so that we can give community service hours for students working on the campaign.

TEAM SEILER GET OUT THE VOTE EVENTS

TEAM SEILER will be sponsoring a Get Out The Vote Rally on Monday, February 9 at Yolo on Las Olas. I will send out the specific times this week. Most likely it will be from 5-6 p.m.

TEAM SEILER will be hosting a Get Out the Vote Reminder Rally at Offerdahl’s Cafe Grill, at 1535 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304 from 9 am to 1100 am on election day.

FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANT

Be sure to get out yourself and vote on Feb 10. While we are very fortunate to have great support in the community the only thing that matters in the end are VOTES. Historically, February elections have low turnouts. This is why it is so important that everyone vote and getting everyone you know to vote. A person who can bring even 1, 2, or 3 additional votes for Jack is a major voting block in a low turnout election.

Yesterday was just a continuation of the unbelievable community support from the residents of Fort Lauderdale:

We have already exhausted our initial order of 1200 yard signs. We received another shipment of 1200 signs on Thursday and already 400 signs have been requested by residents and being distributed around town. Because of the voluminous requests we have for signs, our sign team is running a little behind but be assured if you have requests a sign they will be delivered, asap. Also, we now have large signs for business in high traffic locations, if you know of any spots we can get permission to put the big signs, please let me know.

Thanks to all the families at Holiday Park this weekend that took so many or our signs and campaign literature to distribute to their friends. It is amazing to watch the support for Jack from the families he has coached and worked with at Holiday Park over the years.

On Saturday afternoon over 25 volunteers, children, adults, entire families walked the Rio Vista area of Fort Lauderdale and had a tremendous response and outpouring of support. After walking this area, we had over 100 signs requests.

As we speak, Jack is walking the Southwest area of Fort Lauderdale with another 30 members of Team Seiler in tow.

Remember Election Day is February 10. Every little bit helps. Even if you don’t live in the City if you could reach out to your family and friends who do and ask them to Vote for Jack would be a huge help to the campaign. Based on previous city elections, this race is not expected to have a large voter turn out. As such, every vote will be vital to our success.

I will send out another email this week with the locations we will be walking door to door.

ADDITIONAL NEWS:
Due to the overwhelming requests for campaign signs we have exhausted our initial order of 1200 signs. By tomorrow we will have a shipment of signs delivered. Currently we are getting 10-15 requests a day and doing the best we can to get the signs up. So if you asked me recently for a sign and its not there yet, please know we will get it up ASAP. Additionally, we have ordered large signs for business so if anyone has any location on major rodaways we can put up a large sign, please let us know.

The Council of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations will host the forums. The first is on Jan. 29, just before the Feb. 10 primary election. The candidates will be interviewed at this forum by the Council of Civic Associations.

The second forum is Feb. 26, in advance of the March 10 general election.

Both sessions will begin at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 100 N. Andrews Ave, with Christopher Pollock, former president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, moderating.
